# Design and Operation of Learning Programs

**Design and tracking of student journeys**. The Missions platform allows designing and mapping all activities that a student performs during a period of time (a course, a semester...) both within their subjects and additional activities. This allows having an overview of the student experience with multiple utilities:

* know precisely, and adjust, the workload over time; establish coordination between subjects in certain activities;
* establish evaluation / control / feedback points

In this case, the platform stages represent those activities and can happen in parallel (unlike when used for mission design).

**Design of all types of courses**. The Missions platform allows applying other design frameworks, so all types of courses based on different pedagogical models can be designed, with a much more friendly design experience focused on the value proposition than what LMS allow (which function more as content repositories).

In this case, each stage represents a learning activity (with the level of granularity that the designer decides) such as masterclasses, exams, projects, tests, laboratory practices, visits...
